Why Terracotta Pots?

Highlights

Unglazed terracotta pots are porous. This allows the soil and roots to receive plenty of oxygen, allows moisture in and out, and keeps both the temperature and soil pH levels balanced.

Terracotta is great for plant parents who might overwater their plants, or for plants who prefer slightly dryer conditions.

Materials

Pots are made from unglazed terracotta clay.

Shelf-Life

This pot will last you years! Over time, your terracotta pot might develop a patina (a white, crusty film over the orange clay). This is completely normal and healthy for your pots, but if you want to remove it just soak them in a water & vinegar mixture overnight and scrub!

End of Life Care

This pot should last you many years, but if it breaks you could repurpose it as terracotta mulch, stepping stones, a mosaic art project, or anything else you can think of!
