For Immediate Release: April 16, 2024
Boston, Mass. – Uvida Shop, Boston’s first and only zero waste store, is celebrating the grand opening of its new North End storefront this Earth Month. The new store opened after being awarded a S.P.A.C.E. Grant from the City of Boston to fill vacant retail spaces in the city. As a zero waste store and refillery, Uvida Shop provides city residents with plastic-free home essentials that are healthier for both people and the planet. The grand opening is part of Uvida’s Earth Month celebrations to highlight achievements of the environmental movement and raise awareness for ways we can do more. This year’s global Earth Day theme, “Planet vs. Plastics,” resonates with the zero-waste community as it works to reduce the amount of single-use plastics entering our waste stream, our wild spaces, and even our bodies.
